Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

Happy Friday 👋

Today, I have big news for you about what we’ve started working on with a number of partners: an impactful Advent calendar!

Ok, I know that it’s not the best time to share some Christmas-related information right now, especially as we just broke the all-time heat record two days in a row

But creating a product like this, it already feels like time is running.

And, I’d like to take you on this journey with us, share regular updates, and—most importantly—get your feedback to truly make this the most impactful Advent calendar possible!

Here are the impactful insights that I have for you today:

  • Let’s create the most impactful Advent calendar together 🎄📅
  • How $4.3 billion in grants will slash greenhouse gasses 💸
  • An endangered whale species is seen for the first time after 110+ years 🐋
  • And more… 💚

🎄📅 Let’s Create the Most Impactful Advent Calendar Together

1️⃣ The big picture: The Christmas season is mostly driven by consumerism and virtually all mainstream Advent calendars make matters worse. They often only offer short-lived joy through unhealthy sweets or cheap toys. This year, we want to provide an alternative with what we call The Most Impactful Advent Calendar! Every day, one charity partner organization does a good deed in your name. Together, we help you turn this year into a holiday season filled with daily acts of kindness and generosity!

2️⃣ Why is this good news: Instead of contributing to consumerism, you’ll help fight some of the biggest problems in the world. From climate change, to biodiversity, to education, and poverty—every single good deed will be a concrete positive action. Plus, we’ll make sure that the calendars are also locally and sustainably produced and shipped. Our goal is to truly make this the most impactful option for you and everybody else this Christmas season and I’d love to get your feedback along the way so that we can make this happen together!

3️⃣ What’s next: We are currently still in the early stages of creating The Most Impactful Advent Calendar. First, we have a landing page up for you with all the information that is important to share (and sign up to). Next, we need to finalize our cooperations with 24 partner organizations. So far, we have eight committed ones and are in talks with quite a few more. Please let us know if you know about any we should reach out to as well! In parallel, we are also in good talks with a sustainable printing company and a logistics operator (more about that once it’s finalized).

Related: Join the waitlist, you’ll be greeted with a quick questionnaire to share your feedback and input—alternatively, hit “reply” and let me now your thoughts directly via email!

📢 Three More Good News

💸 How $4.3 billion in grants will slash greenhouse gasses:

  • $4.3 billion is being provided in grants by the Environmental Protection Agency. These grants will be used to fund projects in 30 different states to reduce climate pollution.
  • These projects aim to reduce industrial emissions and enhance energy efficiency. Not only does this funding represent one of the largest climate investments ever made, these projects will drastically help slash greenhouse gasses and create green jobs.
  • Other solutions will soon be implemented to address climate change and support the transition to clean energy.

How UK airlines may soon disclose carbon impact of flights in 2025:

  • Airlines in the UK may soon be required to inform consumers of the environmental impact of flights, specifically CO2 emissions.
  • If this proposal goes through, this transparency will allow future passengers to make more informed and sustainable travel decisions. Additionally, this would further encourage airlines to adopt greener practices to reduce their carbon emissions.
  • This proposal could take effect by early 2025. The UK is also currently planning to have at least 5 sustainable aviation fuel or SAF production plants by 2025.

🐋 An endangered whale species seen in Ireland after 110+ years:

  • For the first time in over a hundred years, a North Atlantic right whale has been spotted off the coast of Ireland.
  • This unexpected appearance offers hope. These whales are critically endangered, with less than 400 specimens remaining after severe whaling. It also reinforces the importance of our current conservation efforts to protect these whales and other animals.
  • Researchers are now working to identify the whale that was spotted. Conservation groups are urging local communities to give the whale space in order to support the whale and the recovery of its endangered species.
