Hey fellow impactful ninja ?
You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.
Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.
But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.
Why do we add these product links?
First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.
And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.
What do these affiliate links mean for you?
First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.
And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.
What do these affiliate links mean for us?
When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).
And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.
What does this mean for me personally?
You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.
Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.
Stay impactful,

Happy Wednesday 👋
Did you know that about 30% of all perishable food goes to waste?
And that’s not just tragic because of the more than 800 million people starving worldwide…
…but also because there are solutions available to mitigate both at the same time.
Just like the one I’ll share with you below!

Here are the impactful insights that I have for you today:
- A way to upcycle food waste and create climate-positive products 🌾
- How sustainable packaging is revolutionizing the food industry ♻️
- Reducing emissions from the red meat industry 🐄
- And more… 💚

🌾 How to Safe & Upcycle Food Waste Sustainably
Did you know that there’s a technology that can transform food waste into a nutritious powder that can feed people all across the world for years to come? And that this same technology can also create climate-positive products? Then you’ll enjoy our conversation together with Gary Schuler from GTF Technologies! 👇
🎥 We’ve just launched a new podcast episode with Gary Schuler from GTF Technologies. Gary was a sales executive at America’s largest uniform supplier when he noticed a 30-foot-high wall of pallets stacked in the distribution center. He then went on to advise several other businesses on waste reduction. And, finally, he was motivated to launch an organization dedicated to the efficient distribution of returned, wasted, or unused materials—which led him to found GTF Technologies.
💚 GTF Technologies, which stands for “Gleaning the Fields,” is a leader in food stabilization technology. They specialize in instantly drying and micronizing perishable foods—like fresh produce, raw organic materials, and food processing side streams—into nutrient-dense powders. In this way, they provide a sustainable solution to upcycle food waste.
Here are three key points that you’ll learn from this episode:
✅ How saving food from going to landfills was key to starting his organization…
✅ How their technology doesn’t only reduce food waste but also carbon emissions…
✅ How they could use their technology to help organizations become more holistically sustainable…

📢 More Good News…
🌎 How a top human rights court is tackling corporate climate crimes:
- The Inter-American Court of Human Rights recently held a landmark hearing on the role of businesses, particularly those in the fossil fuel and agriculture industries, in addressing climate-related human rights breaches.
- The hearing, titled “The climate emergency and human rights,” took place in Barbados and focused on clarifying states’ responsibilities in tackling climate change and preventing human rights violations caused by the climate crisis.

🐄 The Australian red meat industry sees significant emission reductions:
- The red meat industry in Australia has achieved a significant reduction of 78% in net greenhouse gas emissions since 2005. This reduction is attributed to decreased rates of land clearing and increased forest regrowth.
- The report highlights that the high rainfall in 2020-21 led to increased carbon sequestration due to vegetation growth on land managed by the red meat sector, covering an area equivalent to about half of Australia’s landmass.
- Overall, while the Australian red meat industry has made significant strides in reducing emissions, challenges remain in achieving the ambitious goal of net zero emissions by 2030.
♻️ How sustainable packaging is revolutionizing the food industry:
- The food industry is undergoing a significant transformation with sustainable packaging leading the way. Key changes include transitioning from traditional plastics to biodegradable plant-based plastics, edible packaging, and recycled materials.
- Innovations from companies like Notpla, using seaweed and natural materials, highlight this shift towards eco-friendly options, responding to consumer demand for greener products.
- Ultimately, sustainable food packaging represents more than just a trend—it’s a vital shift towards long-term viability and environmental responsibility, setting a precedent for other industries to follow and inspiring innovations for a more sustainable planet.
