Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

📰 The quick summary: A New Jersey inventor built the first US solar-hydrogen home for $500,000, proving that hydrogen can power a household cleanly and indefinitely without relying on the national grid.
📈 One key stat: The home cost $500,000 to build, a figure that looks modest when you factor in the long-term savings from never paying a grid electricity bill.
💬 One key quote: “Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe,” and one New Jersey inventor has turned that fact into a fully functioning, zero-emission home powered entirely by solar and hydrogen energy.

1️⃣ The big picture: Hydrogen has long been overlooked as a household energy source, but a project in Hopewell, New Jersey is changing that perception. Inventor Mike Strizki built the first US solar-hydrogen home, where solar panels capture energy that an electrolyzer then converts and stores as hydrogen gas. A fuel cell later converts that hydrogen back into electricity and water on demand, creating a completely closed energy loop with zero emissions. Unlike batteries, the stored hydrogen never loses its charge over time, making the system reliable year-round. The project, run through the non-profit Hydrogen House Project, is now the subject of an upcoming documentary, bringing its story to a much wider audience.

2️⃣ Why is this good news: Strizki’s home demonstrates that clean, off-grid living is technically achievable today using existing technology, not some distant future innovation. Because hydrogen never loses its stored energy, this system solves one of the biggest weaknesses of solar power: what to do when the sun is not shining. A closed loop that produces only water as a byproduct means the home runs with absolutely zero emissions, setting a powerful example for future residential energy design. As awareness grows through the upcoming documentary, more homeowners, engineers, and policymakers can draw inspiration from this proof-of-concept to push hydrogen further into mainstream energy planning. Wider adoption could eventually drive down costs, making solar-hydrogen systems accessible to far more households across the US and beyond.

3️⃣ What’s next: An upcoming documentary about the Hydrogen House Project is set to bring this story to a global audience, potentially accelerating public and industry interest. As costs for hydrogen technology continue to fall, similar systems could become more affordable for everyday homeowners. Increased attention from both private investors and governments could speed up the development of hydrogen infrastructure at a larger scale.
