Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

📰 The quick summary: Australia sets a new climate target to reduce emissions by 62-70% from 2005 levels by 2035, putting the nation on a stronger trajectory to reach net zero emissions by mid-century.
📈 One key stat: The 62-70% emission reduction target by 2035 significantly exceeds the current trajectory of 51%, requiring accelerated climate action to close this substantial gap.
💬 One key quote: “It is the right target to protect our environment, to protect and advance our economy and jobs and to ensure that we act in our national interest and in the interest of this and future generations,” Albanese said.

1️⃣ The big picture: Australia has committed to a more ambitious climate target, aiming to slash greenhouse gas emissions between 62% and 70% from 2005 levels by 2035. This new goal builds upon the previous 43% reduction target for 2030 that was legislated after the 2022 election. The federal government accepted the Climate Change Authority’s recommendation, which considered both environmental necessity and economic feasibility. This announcement follows a landmark climate risk assessment that revealed no Australian will escape the cascading threats of the climate crisis without significant action.

2️⃣ Why is this good news: The new target represents a major acceleration in Australia’s climate ambition, going well beyond the current trajectory of 51% reduction by 2035. This stronger commitment aligns Australia more closely with what climate science demands to limit global warming. The target comes with a high-level plan for reaching net zero by 2050, including specific pathways for six economic sectors. More aggressive emission reductions will help protect Australians from worsening climate impacts, including the heat-related deaths and sea level rise threats highlighted in the recent national climate risk assessment.

3️⃣ What’s next: The government must now rapidly implement policies to close the gap between the current 51% trajectory and the new 62-70% target. Substantial investments in clean energy infrastructure and emission reduction technologies across six economic sectors will need to accelerate. Australia will also need to navigate the international climate landscape, particularly given Donald Trump’s return to the White House and potential US withdrawal from global climate agreements.
