Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

📰 The quick summary: Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions fell 2.2% last financial year as renewable energy generation exceeded 40% of electricity production, helping the country make progress toward its climate goals.
📈 One key stat: Greenhouse gas emissions dropped by 9.9 million tonnes, with the proportion of electricity from renewable energy reaching more than 40% across the year, marking significant progress in Australia’s energy transition.
💬 One key quote: “About half of Australia’s emissions reduction last financial year was due to solar and wind pushing coal power out of the system, government data shows.”

1️⃣ The big picture: Australia has achieved a significant milestone in its climate action efforts with greenhouse gas emissions falling by 2.2% in the last financial year. This represents a reduction of 9.9 million tonnes of emissions, the largest annual drop outside the COVID-19 pandemic period. About half of this reduction came from the electricity sector as renewable energy sources like solar and wind pushed coal-fired power out of the system. The proportion of electricity generated from renewable sources has now surpassed 40%, demonstrating Australia’s accelerating transition toward cleaner energy.

2️⃣ Why is this good news: The 2.2% emissions reduction represents tangible progress in Australia’s fight against climate change. Renewable energy is successfully displacing fossil fuel generation, with solar and wind power now making up over 40% of the electricity mix. Multiple sectors are contributing to emissions reductions, including underground coal mines, heavy industry, farming, and residential gas usage. This progress helps Australia move closer to its international climate commitments while creating a foundation for a cleaner energy system. The sustained growth in renewables indicates a fundamental shift in the country’s energy landscape.

3️⃣ What’s next: The government needs to revamp existing policies and introduce new measures to reach its 2035 target of cutting emissions by 62-70% below 2005 levels. Current projections show Australia falling short of both its 2030 and 2035 targets without additional action. The Climate Change Authority estimates emissions need to be cut by 15 million tonnes annually over the next five years to stay on track.
