Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

The Most Important Information About the Boston Tea Party at a Glance

1️⃣ The big picture: The Boston Tea Party was a direct response to the Tea Act of 1773, which granted the British East India Company a monopoly on tea sales in the colonies while maintaining an unpopular tax. In protest, members of the Sons of Liberty, disguised as Mohawk Indians, boarded British ships and destroyed an entire shipment of tea, sending a powerful message of resistance to British authorities. Today, the historic event is marked with special exhibits and reenactments.

2️⃣ Why it is important: The Boston Tea Party was a defining moment in colonial resistance to British rule. It intensified tensions between Britain and the colonies, leading to the passage of the Intolerable Acts, which further encouraged revolutionary sentiments. This event was a catalyst for the American Revolution, demonstrating the colonists’ willingness to take bold action for their rights and freedoms.

3️⃣ How you can get involved: You can commemorate the Boston Tea Party by visiting historical sites, supporting historical organizations, and educating others:

A Brief History of the Boston Tea Party

When was this event established: The Boston Tea Party took place on December 16, 1773, serving as a catalyst for American independence. The annual celebration began as an initiative by local organizations to highlight its importance.

How has it developed since then: Initially small in scale, the celebration of the Boston Tea Party has grown into a major historical commemoration, featuring reenactments, museum visits, and educational programs that attract both locals and tourists.

3 Interesting Facts About the Boston Tea Party

  1. No one got hurt—and almost no one got caught: Over 100 participants destroyed the tea without harming anyone—not even ship crew members or British soldiers. Most people immediately fled Boston afterward to avoid arrest, and only one person, Francis Akeley, was ever caught.
  2. Pre-tea rebellion: The Boston Tea Party wasn’t the first act of defiance. Colonists had already staged protests like the Stamp Act Riots of 1765 and the burning of the British ship Gaspee in 1772.
  3. A million-dollar protest: The 342 chests of East India Company tea dumped into the harbor cost about £9,659 in 1773, which would be over $1.7 million today.
