💚 Embracing Diversity & Inclusion ♿
Affiliate Disclosure
Hey fellow impactful ninja ?
You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.
Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.
But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.
Why do we add these product links?
First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.
And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.
What do these affiliate links mean for you?
First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.
And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.
What do these affiliate links mean for us?
When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).
And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.
What does this mean for me personally?
You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.
Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.
Stay impactful,
Happy Monday 👋
Did you know that around 16% of the human population has a disability that significantly affects their daily lives?
Disparities in healthcare are disproportionately affecting these individuals, leading to shorter lifespans and increased risk of developing detrimental health conditions…
So, today, I’d like to share an event with you that raises awareness of the needs of the disabled community and promotes acceptance!

Here are the impactful insights that I have for you today:
- Promoting disability inclusion ♿
- Creating a more sustainable farming industry without fertilizers 🌱

♿ Event of the Month: International Day of Acceptance
👉 Did you know that January 20 is International Day of Acceptance? This event was founded to promote inclusion for all people with disabilities and empower individuals with disabilities to share their experiences and self-advocate.
1️⃣ The big picture: The roots of International Day of Acceptance can be traced back to the ideals of Annie Hopkins – the founder of 3E Love. She dedicated her life to spreading awareness of the importance of understanding and accepting diversity. The symbol of 3E Love consists of a wheelchair shaped like a heart to capture the essence of recognizing the value of every person and accepting people with disabilities. Unfortunately, Annie passed away on January 20, 2009, due to unexpected complications during a simple medical procedure. Her brother, Stevie Hopkins, founded the International Day of Acceptance shortly after her death to carry on her legacy and pay tribute to her life. Today, this awareness event promotes the participation of individuals and organizations to advocate for the inclusion and acceptance of people with disabilities.
2️⃣ Why is this important: Around the world, an estimated 1.3 billion people are living with a significant disability, defined as “a long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairment which in interaction with various barriers may hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others”. Having a disability is associated with twice the risk of developing other health conditions such as diabetes, depression, stroke asthma, and obesity. As a result, people with disabilities die on average 20 years younger than the general population. Furthermore, many of the poor health outcomes experienced by people with disabilities are caused by health inequalities driven by factors such as discrimination and unfair health system practices.
3️⃣ How can you get involved: You can get involved in International Day of Acceptance by joining or hosting an event to raise awareness of the challenges faced by people with disabilities. Alternatively, you can spread awareness on your social media channels or, if you run a business, you can consider encouraging your employees to wear a symbol of acceptance on the day of the event or even invite a guest speaker with a disability to share their experiences and perspectives.

📢 Three Good News

- Currently, the production of most major crops requires nitrate and phosphate fertilizers which can be harmful for the environment.
- According to the study, by utilizing natural mutual relationships between plant roots and soil microbes to enhance nutrient uptake, farmers could potentially reduce the use of potentially harmful inorganic fertilizers.
