Developed by the organization Les Audacieuses & Les Audacieux, the residence combines LGBTQIA+-inclusive housing with multigenerational co-living — a model inspired by a similar project that launched in Berlin in 2012. Loneliness is a severe problem among older LGBTQIA+ people in France, where 65% of queer seniors live alone and suicide rates run two to seven times higher than among heterosexual and cisgender peers.
