The data told a very different story: ravens repeatedly returned to the same locations where wolves had previously made kills, rather than shadowing the packs across the park. Ravens also travel up to 155 km to reach kill sites, a distance that rules out simply tailing a wolf pack. Spatial memory built through years of experience, not the wolves themselves, guides the birds.
