💚 Inclusivity For All 🏳️🌈
Affiliate Disclosure
Hey fellow impactful ninja ?
You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.
Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.
But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.
Why do we add these product links?
First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.
And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.
What do these affiliate links mean for you?
First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.
And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.
What do these affiliate links mean for us?
When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).
And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.
What does this mean for me personally?
You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.
Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.
Stay impactful,
Happy Monday 👋
Who isn’t for inclusivity for all?
That’s a weird question, right…
Yet, too many are still discriminated against because of their sexual orientation. And many more still feel unable to open up about it…
Just imagine a society where everyone is equally included—independent of any kind of different preferences (or looks)!
That’s a key point of this month’s main event: to promote inclusivity for all!

Here are the impactful insights that I have for you today:
- Let’s promote inclusivity for all 🏳️🌈
- The development of a new energy-efficient building material 🪟
- How a catalyst can turn greenhouse gasses into valuable chemicals 🌀
- And more… 💚

🏳️🌈 Event of the Month: Pride Month
👉 Did you know that June is Pride Month? This awareness event was founded to celebrate the history and culture of the LGBTQ+ community and promote inclusivity for all.
1️⃣ The big picture: The formation of the Pride Month we know today is rooted in the Stonewall riots that began on June 28, 1969, marking the beginning of LGBTQ+ liberation. The first Pride marches took place the following year but official recognition didn’t come until 1999 in the US when President Clinton declared June as Gay and Lesbian Pride Month. The name of the awareness event became more inclusive in 2009 under President Barack Obama. Today, Pride Month is celebrated around the world with Pride parades, parties, concerts, workshops, and other fun events, attracting millions of participants every year.
2️⃣ Why is this important: Throughout history, members of the LGBTQ+ community have been victims of discrimination and hate crimes as they navigate their individual journeys. Despite recent improvements in acceptance, 1 in 4 LGBTQ+ people have witnessed discriminatory remarks, and 1 in 5 have experienced homelessness at some point in their lives. What’s more, 54% of lesbian, gay, and bisexual people still feel unable to open up about their sexual orientation to their families, alongside 53% of trans people, proving that we still have a way to go before our society becomes fully inclusive.
3️⃣ How can you get involved: One of the best ways to get involved in Pride Month is to participate in a Pride event near you. There are thousands held across the US and worldwide, giving you plenty of options. You can also get involved by raising awareness through your social media channels or setting up your own awareness event.
You can also consider donating to one or more charities that are working to bring inclusivity to the forefront of society and ensure every member of the LGBTQ+ community feels heard and valued:

📢 Three Good News
🪟 The development of a new material for sustainable building:
- Researchers at the Institute for Microstructure Technology and the Light Technology Institute have created a polymer-based material that allows sunlight to enter without using additional energy and is self-cleaning.
- It’s hoped that this new material can eventually replace glass in walls and roofs. Currently, glass is responsible for 10-15% of heat loss in homes, reducing their potential energy efficiency.
- The new polymer-based material consists of microscopic pyramids made of silicone, allowing for light diffusion, self-cleaning, and radiating cooling whilst maintaining transparency.
🌀 How a new catalyst can turn greenhouse gasses into value-added chemicals:
- Scientists at the Tokyo Institute of Technology have designed a novel zeolite catalyst that enables tandem reactions to turn greenhouse gasses into value-added chemicals.
- Reducing emissions from greenhouse emissions is key to tackling climate change. However, despite a flurry of climate pledges, global GHG emissions continue to rise, reaching 53.8 billion metric tons of CO2 in 2022.
- By turning the separation between different active sites on the catalyst, scientists have achieved the ability to convert methane into methanol and then into hydrocarbons in mild conditions.
🦜 The creation of a new wildlife corridor in the world’s oldest rainforest:
- Environmental nonprofit Climate Force has joined forces with the Eastern Kuku Yalanji people and rangers to build a wildlife corridor between two UNESCO sites in Australia; the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef.
- Wildlife habitats in the region have become fragmented due to industrial agriculture, threatening native wildlife.
- The project aims to plant 360,000 trees over an area of 213 hectares (526 acres) to allow animals to forage for food and connect different populations for migration and mating.

🤝 Three More Important Awareness Events
- World Bicycle Day is a UN-designated day that advocates for the health and eco benefits of cycling.
- The day also promotes higher-quality cycling infrastructure around the world.
- Seaweed Day celebrates seaweed both as an important part of the ecosystem and as a great source of nutrients.
- It also advocates for seaweed farming as an enterprise that can revitalize coastal towns.
- Ocean Week highlights all the important issues facing the ocean today, such as plastic pollution, water warming, and overfishing.
- The ocean is integral to the planet’s ecosystem and so protecting it should be a top priority.
