Hey fellow impactful ninja ?
You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.
Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.
But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.
Why do we add these product links?
First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.
And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.
What do these affiliate links mean for you?
First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.
And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.
What do these affiliate links mean for us?
When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).
And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.
What does this mean for me personally?
You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.
Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.
Stay impactful,

The Most Important Information About International Tiger Day at a Glance
1️⃣ The big picture: Also called Global Tiger Day, International Tiger Day is an annual celebration to raise awareness of tigers and the threats facing them in the wild. The goal of the event is to rally public support for conservation efforts and promote a global system for protecting the natural habitats of tigers.
2️⃣ Why it is important: Tigers are disappearing around the world at an alarming rate due to poaching, human conflict, habitat loss, and the prevalence of illegal tiger farms. In fact, 97% of tiger populations have disappeared in the last century with fewer than 4,000 remaining in the wild today. More tigers now live in captivity than in the wild, where they are often subjected to abuse and neglect.

A Brief History of International Tiger Day
When was this event established: International Tiger Day was founded in 2010 at the St Petersburg Tiger Summit in Russia after 13 tiger range countries came together to prevent the extinction of this magnificent big cat, including India, Cambodia, and Bhutan. Their initial goal was to double the number of wild tigers by 2022.
How has it developed since then: Since its founding, International Tiger Day has grown to become an effective campaign to increase online awareness of the threats facing tigers and as a collaboration network for tiger conservation around the world. For example, in 2023, thanks to the efforts of International Tiger Day Partners, tiger populations in India had seen a 24% increase since 2018.
3 Interesting Facts About International Tiger Day
- An Umbrella Species: Tigers are considered to be an umbrella species, which means that they help to keep their environment healthy. For example, they prey on herbivores but if there are not enough tigers left in the wild, prey animals like deer can quickly overgraze, causing substantial damage to land and disrupting the balance of the local environment.
- Conservation Impact: The recovery of the Bengal Tiger due to localized conservation efforts in India is considered to be one of the world’s most successful conservation stories. There are now over 3,100 wild Bengal Tigers now living in the country, more than double the number that were living there less than 20 years ago.
- A Spiritual Icon: The tiger has been revered, particularly in Asian lore and art, for centuries. For example, in Hindu mythology, the tiger is the Vahana (or vehicle) of the Goddess Durga. And, they are still a prominent part of the Chinese calendar, with children born under the Tiger sign considered to be exceptionally lucky and powerful.
