Hey fellow impactful ninja ?
You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.
Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.
But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.
Why do we add these product links?
First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.
And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.
What do these affiliate links mean for you?
First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.
And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.
What do these affiliate links mean for us?
When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).
And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.
What does this mean for me personally?
You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.
Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.
Stay impactful,
There are numerous health issues that disproportionately affect men, such as heart disease and certain types of cancer. Even more shockingly, 4 in every 5 suicides are by men, making it the leading cause of death for men under 35. Unfortunately, society dictates that men should remain strong and deal with their problems alone, causing many health problems to go undiagnosed. So, we had to ask: What is the most important information you need to know about this year’s Men’s Health Week?
👉 Official Name: Men’s Health Week

Keep on reading to find out all the important information about Men’s Health Week at a glance, including its big picture, why it’s important, and how you can get involved. We’ll then share its brief history, three interesting facts about it, its future dates, and how you’ll never miss any important awareness event again.
The Most Important Information About Men’s Health Week at a Glance
1️⃣ The big picture: Men’s Health Week is celebrated every year during the week ending on Father’s Day to heighten awareness of preventable health issues that are more likely to affect men and boys. Their main focus is on education, encouraging men to understand their health diagnosis and treatment options while reducing the stigma that surrounds men seeking help.
2️⃣ Why is this important: The overall mortality rate for men compared to women is 41% higher, with 8 out of the 10 leading causes of death disproportionately affecting men, including stroke, cancer, and heart disease. Furthermore, 31% of men suffer from depression at some point in their lives yet only ¼ of those speak to a health professional about their mental health and just ⅓ take medication for it. Due to traditional stereotypes of men as tough and self-reliant, many men feel that seeing a doctor is a sign of weakness, which negatively affects their overall health.
3️⃣ How can you get involved: One of the best ways to get involved in Men’s Health Week is to open a dialogue about men’s health in your local community through awareness events, community groups, and fundraising activities. You can also get involved by spreading awareness through your social media channels or participating in the CAN DO Challenge. In addition, numerous organizations hold awareness events during this week to ensure men have the information they need to make informed decisions about their health.

A Brief History of Men’s Health Week
When was this event established: The event was founded in 2002 after representatives from 6 leading men’s health organizations, led by the Men’s Health Network, met at the 2nd World Congress on Men’s Health in Vienna. The aim was to bring men’s health to the forefront of society and encourage men and boys to take action over their physical and mental health, rather than ignoring it.
How has it developed since then: Today, Men’s Health Week is a time for organizations to encourage men to think more about their health and put routines in place to turn their health issues around. Each year, there is a particular health focus, for example, in 2024 the theme was ‘Men don’t talk, we’re told’, which encourages men to tell their health stories to inspire others.
3 Interesting Facts About Men’s Health Week
- Raising Awareness of Societal Norms: One of the main goals of Men’s Health Week is to break down gender stereotypes and change the way we think of men’s behavior and health. For example, health-seeking behavior is still seen as a female attribute, whereas partaking in risky behavior is more acceptable in males, causing ongoing gender disparity in well-being.
- Political Endorsement: Men’s Health Week has been recognized and supported by the White House, as well as health services like the NHS, and has been endorsed by multiple celebrities, particularly when it comes to mental health. Just some of the male celebrities who have chosen to speak out about their health struggles include King Charles, Robbie Williams (singer), and Brad Pitt (actor).
- Wear Blue: Wear Blue Day is celebrated every year on the Friday of Men’s Health Week. Organizations and individuals often host a Wear Blue Day event to raise awareness of the health issues affecting men and boys around the world using the hashtag #ShowUsYourBlue.
