Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

There are about 4.5 million adopted youth in the US, totaling 7% of the population. Moreover, adoption experts estimate that around 2 million couples are waiting to adopt at any given time. But, in a lot of cases, lack of legal guidance and community support can burden or delay this process. Fortunately, we can improve national adoption rates and unite children who need a loving home with parents who are ready to provide it. So, we had to ask: What is the most important information you need to know about this year’s National Adoption Day?

👉 Official Name: National Adoption Day
💚 Cause: To raise awareness of and encourage child adoption from foster care
📅 Next Date: November 21, 2026
🌐 Official Website: https://www.nationaladoptionday.org

Keep on reading to find out all the important information about National Adoption Day at a glance, including its big picture, why it’s important, and how you can get involved. We’ll then share its brief history, three interesting facts about it, its future dates, and how you’ll never miss any important awareness event again.

The Most Important Information About National Adoption Day at a Glance

1️⃣ The big picture: National Adoption Day is a perfect time to raise awareness of the long queue of youth in foster care waiting to enter a family that will provide them with a stable environment full of resources and opportunities to thrive. This is a day for communities to support adoptive families for children living in foster care. Furthermore, this event unites courts, attorneys, and parents to accelerate and finalize adoptions. For example, in 2015 alone, 4,000 adoptions were finalized on this day.

2️⃣ Why it is important: Every child should grow up with the care and protection of a family. Sadly, over 437,000 children and youth are separated from their families and live in foster care, with 118,000 of them waiting to be adopted. Moreover, children can remain in foster care for more than 4 years before their adoptions are finalized. In addition, most children enter the foster care system due to abuse and trauma in their homes – abusive neglect is the primary reason children are removed from their original homes, followed by parental drug use. So, a new understanding and mindful family can provide all the life-changing love these children need.

3️⃣ How you can get involved: You can get involved in National Adoption Day by organizing your own event with local partners, including judges and child attorneys, as well as adoption agencies and adoptive parent groups. You can register your event on the official National Adoption Day site and use social media images or other resources to help plan and promote the celebration. You can also support this special day by using the hashtag #nationaladoptionday to raise awareness, encourage others to participate, and boost adoptions nationwide.

A Brief History of National Adoption Day

When was this event established: National Adoption Day was founded in 2000 by a coalition of adoption and child-oriented foundations. They wanted to encourage nine US cities to open their courts on the Saturday before Thanksgiving to finalize and celebrate adoptions from foster care. The event was inspired by the innovative efforts of Juvenile Court Judge Michael Nash, who opened the court on Sundays to finalize adoptions.

How has it developed since then: Today, policymakers, organizations, and activists collaborate to plan this event each year in more than 400 communities nationwide. In this way, they have supported over 80,000 children to move from foster care into permanent adoptive families. And, every year, thousands more children who have spent months or even years in foster care are finally given forever homes with their forever parents.

3 Interesting Facts About National Adoption Day

  1. Ensured Love: Adopted children are placed in families who have planned, prepared, and longed for a child. These parents have completed the home study process to ensure they are ready to provide a stable, loving home. These new homes are sanctuaries after the harm and developmental trauma that can accompany foster care or the child’s original home.
  2. The Blessing of (Adoptive) Parenthood: Adopted children are reported to have better health, more attention from their parents, and improved school performance compared to children in the general population. Also, 90% of these children have positive feelings about being adopted – they are raised to understand that adoption is something special and that they are loved by their new families.
  3. Finally Becoming Parents: Adoption enables people to become parents when they may not have been able to otherwise. As a result, this is a popular option for same-sex couples, single individuals, and those struggling with infertility. Without adoption, many hopeful parents would never get to experience all the joys and rewards of raising a child.
