Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

Flowers beautify our lives, have rich cultural symbolism, and are critical to Earth’s survival. These delicate blossoms are also admired for their fragrance and the sentiments of hope, love, and gratitude they embody. However, with almost half of the world’s flowers in danger of extinction, this special day is the perfect time to raise awareness of biodiversity loss and advance a safe future for our planet. So, we had to ask: What is the most important information you need to know about this year’s National Flower Day?

👉 Official Name: National Flower Day
💚 Cause: To appreciate the importance of flowers in nature and society
📅 Next Date: March 21, 2026
🐦‍ Hashtag: #NationalFlowerDay

Keep reading to find out all the important information about National Flower Day at a glance – its big picture, why it’s important, and how you can get involved. We’ll then share its brief history, three interesting facts about it, its future dates, and how you’ll never miss any important awareness event again.

The Most Important Information About National Flower Day at a Glance

1️⃣ The big picture: Fittingly, National Flower Day aligns with the Spring equinox which marks the first day of Spring signifying renewal and the unofficial start of the gardening season. This day highlights the value that flowers contribute to global biodiversity while holding symbolic meaning in multiple cultures and traditions. It can also serve as an opportunity to appreciate the natural harmony and esthetic beauty that flowers possess.

2️⃣ Why it is important: Flowers provide bees, butterflies, and other pollinators with food from leaves, pollen, and nectar while offering shelter and places to breed. A single healthy meadow can be home to over 100 species of wildflowers and 3 million flowers producing 1 kg of nectar sugar a day. That’s enough to support nearly 96,000 honey bees. Some flower species alone provide food for 160 types of insects, which in turn support birds and mammals. Furthermore, over a third of the world’s food relies on insects to pollinate them, and thus on flowers to exist.

3️⃣ How you can get involved: You can celebrate National Flower Day by purchasing potted flowers to beautify your home. If you have a garden, you can buy seeds, bulbs, or flowers and plant them. You can also go for a nature walk or visit a botanical garden to admire flowers in their natural habitat – try bringing some of them home and making a DIY floral arrangement. You can also create flower-inspired art, from origami and painting to vibrant flower craft projects. In addition, you can donate to organizations that protect endangered plant species.

A Brief History of National Flower Day

When was this event established: While the exact inception of National Flower Day is not clearly documented, its origins are rooted in the long-standing human fascination with flowers. For example, the act of flower-gifting across civilizations or the fact that flowers have been heavily included in myths, stories, and even medical remedies throughout history.

How has it developed since then: Today, National Flower Day is a popular way to welcome Spring and honor the role of flowers in our lives. For example, in 1968, President Ronald Reagan declared the rose to be the national flower of the United States. Furthermore, other related events were created, such as International Flower Day (January 19) and American Flowers Week (June 28 to July 4).

3 Interesting Facts About National Flower Day

  1. Appreciate Flowers Responsibly: National Flower Day can help us reflect on the environmental impact of the cut-flower industry, including water usage, pesticides, and carbon emissions from transportation. You can make more sustainable decisions by buying local, organically-grown flowers in eco-friendly packaging, as well as recycling or reusing parts of the bouquet
  2. (Electrical) Flower Power: Flowers are charged negatively and emit weak electric fields. On the other hand, pollinators have a positive charge as they fly through the air. When they land, the flower becomes, for a short while, positively charged as well. In this way, flowers “communicate” to other bees that someone has already done the pollinating job.
  3. Fighting Disease: Some wildflowers contain compounds that have made significant contributions to modern medicine, and scientists are discovering more each year. For example, flowers like Selfheal have antibiotic properties that have been recognized for centuries, while Foxgloves contain a compound called digitalin that can be used to treat heart disease.
