Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

📰 The quick summary: A new $125 billion Tropical Forest Forever fund aims to disrupt deforestation economics by investing in bonds and using returns to reward countries that conserve tropical forests.
📈 One key stat: The loss of 6 million hectares of tropical forest annually equals 1.8 billion tonnes of CO2 emissions – equivalent to all of Russia’s yearly emissions.
💬 One key quote: “Before, I always felt we could keep the game close but we could never win, but this is a game-changer,” said Garo Batmanian, director-general of Brazil’s forest service.

1️⃣ The big picture: The Tropical Forest Forever Facility proposes a groundbreaking approach to forest conservation by raising $125 billion to invest in bonds, then using annual returns to reward nations that protect their tropical forests. Brazil and Indonesia have already committed funds, with the World Bank agreeing to host the facility. Unlike previous conservation efforts, the plan earmarks 20% of payments directly to Indigenous communities who have proven to be the most effective forest guardians. This initiative aims to fundamentally shift global economics that currently value forests more when they’re destroyed than when they’re preserved intact.

2️⃣ Why is this good news: This fund could finally correct the distorted economic system that currently rewards deforestation while taking forest benefits for granted. By generating an estimated $800 million annually to reward conservation, it creates genuine financial incentives for keeping forests standing. The facility offers 26 times more funding than Brazil’s current Amazon Fund, providing resources at a scale that could truly compete with destructive industries. Indigenous communities will receive direct payments, recognizing and supporting their critical role in forest protection. The endowment approach also creates sustainable long-term funding rather than relying on unpredictable political donations.

3️⃣ What’s next: The fund needs strong initial government commitments at COP30 to build momentum, though the full $25 billion seed money target isn’t expected immediately. Brazil’s diplomats are working to secure support from additional nations beyond the current backers. Market performance will be monitored carefully to ensure the fund generates sufficient returns for meaningful forest protection payments.
