Affiliate Disclosure
Hey fellow impactful ninja ?
You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.
Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.
But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.
Why do we add these product links?
First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.
And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.
What do these affiliate links mean for you?
First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.
And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.
What do these affiliate links mean for us?
When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).
And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.
What does this mean for me personally?
You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.
Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.
Stay impactful,
Happy Monday 👋

🐯 Event of the Month: National Save a Tiger Month
👉 Did you know that this month (September) is National Save a Tiger Month? This awareness event was founded to prevent tigers from going extinct and protect their habitats.
1️⃣ The big picture: National Save a Tiger Month was set up in 2015 by the World Wildlife Fund to encourage people and organizations to help save tiger populations around the world and raise awareness of the need to conserve the natural environment. Since then, National Save a Tiger Month has become a global initiative, with countries such as China, Indonesia, Russia, Thailand, and Vietnam being just some of the participants.
2️⃣ Why is this important: Tigers are disappearing around the world at an alarming rate due to poaching, human conflict, habitat loss, and the prevalence of illegal tiger farms. In fact, 97% of tiger populations have disappeared in the last century with fewer than 4,000 remaining in the wild today. More tigers now live in captivity than in the wild, where they are often subjected to abuse and neglect.
3️⃣ How can you get involved: You can get involved in National Save a Tiger Month by educating yourself on the plight facing tigers as well as learning more about their behavior and needs. For example, you can visit a nature reserve or zoo, or simply read up more on these majestic creatures. Alternatively, you can spread awareness of endangered tiger species through your social media channels using the hashtags #SaveATigerMonth or #NationalSaveATigerMonth, or volunteer with a local conservation-focused organization.

📢 Three Good News
🥓 The new guidelines that will eliminate misleading sustainability claims on meat and poultry products:
- The US Department of Agriculture has released new guidelines to encourage meat and poultry purveyors to get their sustainability claims verified by independent third parties to prevent misleading customers.
- Commonly used words on food packaging, such as ‘regeneratively grown’, ‘sustainable’ and ‘climate-smart’ currently don’t always require verification. This means that companies can claim they are sustainable without providing evidence.
- The new guidance came amid growing concern of greenwashing and reflects the increased scrutiny by courts and regulators on the labeling of products aimed at consumers concerned about the environment.
🍻 The Brewery company, Carlsberg, launches new sustainable brewery factory that recycles CO2:
- Leading brewery group, Carlsberg, has announced the opening of a new set of carbonation tanks at its brewery in Falkenburg, Sweden, that will recycle 40% of its carbonic acid and create a more sustainable process.
- Over 750g of carbon dioxide is produced per pint of lager, with Carlsberg producing more than 96 million pints every year in the UK alone.
- The new tanks are expected to contribute to a reduction in Carlsberg’s carbon footprint and save 120 truck transports annually.
💡 A Finnish city trials the very first pollinator-safe street lights:
- The city of Lahti, Finland, has announced plans to trial specially-designed pollinator-friendly streetlights. They work by automatically filtering out the blue end of the light spectrum that insects confuse with the light of the moon and stars.
- Studies have shown that street lighting is directly linked to a sharp decline in insect populations in recent years. For example, one study found that there was a 47% reduction in moth caterpillar populations in lit streets compared to unlit streets.
- City authorities have already changed 12 lights along a 500-meter footpath in the Ritamȁki nature reserve, with plans to change more in the near future.

🤝 Three More Important Awareness Events
♀️ September 3, Every Woman Day:
- Every Woman Day aims to share education about the topic of women’s health and encourages vital discussions on gender disparities around the world.
- Unfortunately, women’s health is often overlooked, undervalued, or under-researched, which is something that needs to change.
🌴 September 5, Amazon Rainforest Day:
- Amazon Rainforest Day highlights the Amazon Rainforest and its incredible wildlife as an integral part of the earth’s ecosystem and promotes conservation efforts.
- With large swaths of the Amazon being destroyed every single day, it is crucial that we raise awareness for its conservation.
♻️ September 2-6, Zero Waste Week:
- Zero Waste Week is a challenge-based campaign to significantly reduce your waste during the first full week of September.
- You can choose to do one small action throughout the week to reduce waste, or even challenge yourself to go completely zero waste for the week to help draw attention to the increasing crisis of consumerism in our world today.
