Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

Happy Monday 👋

🐑 Event of the Week: Animal Rights Awareness Week

👉 Did you know that this week (June 16-22) is Animal Rights Awareness Week? During this week, animal advocates come together to raise awareness of the rights animals deserve as sentient beings.

1️⃣ The big picture: Animal Rights Awareness Week was founded in 1991 by the activist group In Defense of Animals. The aim was to honor and remember the animals who have been subject to exploitation, abuse, and death at the hands of humans, as well as uplift the idea of animal rights. Since its founding, Animal Rights Awareness Week has grown into a global movement for animal rights. Every year, events, campaigns, and activities are promoted to highlight the importance of treating animals with respect. The movement advocates for the humane treatment of animals across all settings including wildlife, pets, and farm animals, as well as localized problems such as feral cat populations

2️⃣ Why is this important: In the US alone, an estimated 10 million animals die from abuse, 6.3 million cats and dogs enter animal shelters, and 110 million animals are killed in laboratories every year. In addition, over 78 billion animals are killed for food each year around the world after living in cramped, unhygienic conditions their entire lives. Unfortunately, animal cruelty is rife in all its forms, from animal hoarding to the illegal wildlife trade which is now worth over $20 billion annually

3️⃣ How can you get involved: You can get involved in Animal Rights Awareness Week by setting up an awareness or fundraising event in your own community to promote animal rights. You can also advocate for better legislation to protect animals or spread the word online using the #AnimalRightsAwarenessWeek hashtag. Furthermore, you can consider going vegan to take a stand against cruel animal farming practices or volunteering for a local animal shelter.

Below are our favorite charities that are especially relevant for this awareness event:

  • The reserve will focus on sustainable economic activities that align with Indigenous values while addressing challenges like illegal fishing that currently plague these waters.
  • The reserve will safeguard one of Earth’s most biodiverse marine regions, protecting thousands of species, including 75% of known corals and over 3,000 reef fish species.

🌲 New tools give hope for rainforest protection worldwide:

  • Rainforest conservation efforts are making notable progress worldwide thanks to innovative technologies and stronger political commitments
  • Tools like Global Forest Watch are transforming how we monitor forests, allowing for real-time tracking of deforestation and more targeted interventions.
  • Although rainforests still face significant threats from agricultural expansion and illegal logging, the combination of technological innovation, Indigenous leadership, and international cooperation is creating new pathways for protecting these biodiversity hotspots.
