Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

Happy Friday 👋

🤝 How Giving Back Resonates With the Holiday Spirit

But starting just a few days ago, it looks like a more festive message with a design that fits the holiday season resonates even more!

📢 Three More Good News

🌳 Amazon deforestation drops to lowest reduction levels of 30%:

  • Deforestation in Brazil’s Amazon has reached its lowest-ever level in 8 years, having been reduced by 30.6% over the past year. This marks the first year of data under President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who pledged to combat deforestation as part of Brazil’s climate action plan.
  • The drop in deforestation reveals significant progress in preserving the Amazon and will help curb climate change, protect biodiversity and overall benefit our global ecosystems. Deforestation in the Cerrado savanna has also dropped by 26%, showing similar improvement.
  • Now, Brazil is aiming to eliminate deforestation by 2030, with President Lula promising a major increase in environmental enforcement. These plans include hiring 800 environmental agents next year, and for Brazil to host COP30 in the Amazon region next year, advocating for further climate action and international support.

🌍 How the ozone layer could fully recover by 2066:

  • Scientists have confirmed that the hole in the ozone layer is shrinking, after collecting data from several satellites and weather balloons for full assessment. This progress in healing is largely due to international agreements such as the 1987 Montreal Protocol, which slashed CFC emissions.
  • After decades of chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) emissions, the air pollution had created a hole in the ozone layer over Antarctica. Now, the ozone layer is finally recovering, providing greater protection from UV rays and radiation.
  • Scientists will continue to track the ozone’s health. Currently, the data has scientists believe the layer could make a full recovery by 2066. This requires continuous global cooperation in combating environmental damage, climate change, and air pollution.

💪 How the UK aims to slash emissions by 81% by 2035:

  • The UK Prime Minister has pledged to cut the country’s greenhouse gas emissions by 81% by 2035 and strengthen climate commitments.
  • These commitments include reducing reliance on fossil fuels, attracting global investment, and including more wind power, nuclear power, and carbon capture. This sets a strong example of climate leadership.
  • Moving forward, the UK will need detailed strategies to attract green energy companies and ensure steady, funded progress toward their new goal.
