Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

📰 The quick summary: A California brewery has launched what is described as the first commercial beer carbonated with CO2 captured directly from the air, showing how direct air capture technology can move into everyday industrial settings.
📈 One key stat: A modular direct air capture system was integrated into existing brewery operations within just weeks, requiring no new facilities or major infrastructure investments, pointing to how accessible this technology can be for commercial producers.
💬 One key quote: “Treating carbon dioxide not as an industrial byproduct, but as a manufactured input that can be produced on demand.”

1️⃣ The big picture: Most commercial CO2 supply chains rely on fossil fuel-based industrial processes, making food and beverage producers vulnerable to supply disruptions and price swings. A California brewery has now launched what is described as the first commercial beer carbonated using CO2 captured directly from ambient air, using a modular direct air capture system installed onsite. Named Flow – Clean Air Edition and produced in Alameda, California, the beer uses air-derived CO2 that is refined to beverage-grade quality before entering the brewing process. By generating CO2 at the point of use, the approach cuts out the need for external supply and decouples production from traditional industrial cycles. Part of the proceeds from the beer also supports Carbon180, a US nonprofit focused on advancing carbon removal policy.

2️⃣ Why is this good news: Proving that direct air capture technology can integrate into real commercial operations quickly and affordably opens the door for a wide range of industries to rethink how they source CO2. For food and beverage producers, onsite CO2 generation offers greater supply security and cost stability, reducing exposure to the kinds of shortages seen as recently as 2022. Beyond brewing, the same model could apply to refrigeration, agriculture, and concrete production, giving multiple sectors a cleaner and more reliable alternative to fossil-linked CO2 supply. Scaling this kind of distributed, modular approach could meaningfully shift industries away from carbon-intensive supply chains and toward circular, air-derived alternatives. Early pilots like this one also help build the real-world track record that direct air capture technology needs to attract broader investment and adoption.

3️⃣ What’s next: With the initial launch underway, broader replication across other breweries and food producers will be a key test of whether the model can scale. The companies and others in the space are likely to explore further applications in sectors like refrigeration and agriculture. Policy support and growing commercial demand for cleaner CO2 sourcing could accelerate how quickly this approach moves from niche pilots to mainstream practice.
