Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

📰 The quick summary: Vaulted Deep has developed a dual-purpose technology that transforms organic waste into durable carbon removal by injecting it deep underground, creating an efficient solution to both waste management and climate challenges.
📈 One key stat: Vaulted’s carbon removal system requires less than 0.14 gigajoules per tonne of CO2 removed, making it highly energy-efficient compared to alternatives that must convert waste into pure CO2.
💬 One key quote: “We take organic waste, such as biosolids, paper mill sludge, and agricultural byproducts, that would otherwise pollute our land, air, and water, and inject it deep underground—multiple Empire State buildings deep—into existing geological formations.”

1️⃣ The big picture: Vaulted Deep is transforming waste management and carbon removal with an innovative approach that addresses two environmental challenges simultaneously. Their technology takes problematic organic waste streams like biosolids and agricultural byproducts and injects them deep underground into geological formations, permanently storing carbon while solving waste disposal issues. Recently recognized in the XPRIZE Carbon Removal competition with an $8 million award, Vaulted has already demonstrated its ability to remove nearly 10,000 tonnes of carbon. Built on proven oil and gas industry technology, their solution offers a scalable pathway to manage the billion-plus tons of organic waste currently sent to landfills in the US alone.

2️⃣ Why is this good news: This dual-purpose solution tackles two major environmental problems at once – managing waste that typically pollutes air, water, and land while permanently removing carbon from the atmosphere. During their XPRIZE demonstration, Vaulted removed nearly 10,000 tonnes of carbon, ten times the required amount, proving their technology’s scalability. At their Great Plains facility in Kansas, they’ve already diverted 60,000 tonnes of waste, invested over $5 million in the local economy, and created 18 full-time jobs in just 18 months. Their approach requires minimal energy compared to other carbon removal methods, using less than 0.14 gigajoules per tonne of CO2 removed, and leverages existing infrastructure to accelerate deployment.

3️⃣ What’s next: With their $8 million XPRIZE award and recently secured $32.3 million Series A funding, Vaulted plans to dramatically increase carbon removal capacity by expanding their team and accelerating project development. They’ll focus on enhancing waste preprocessing and slurry injection technology to boost efficiency and lower costs. The company aims to scale operations while maintaining their commitment to safety, environmental protection, and community engagement.
