Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

World Health Day is a global reminder of the importance of achieving health and well-being for all. Spearheaded by the World Health Organization (WHO), this annual observance tackles critical health challenges and celebrates advances in healthcare that improve lives worldwide. So, we had to ask: What is the most important information you need to know about this year’s World Health Day?

👉 Official Name: World Health Day
💚 Cause: Promote global health awareness and equitable healthcare access
📅 Next Date: April 7, 2027
🌐 Official Website:https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-health-day
🐦 Hashtag: #WorldHealthDay #HealthForAll

Keep on reading to find out all the important information about World Health Day at a glance, including its big picture, why it’s important, and how you can get involved. We’ll then share its brief history, three interesting facts about it, its future dates, and how you’ll never miss any important awareness event again.

The Most Important Information About World Health Day at a Glance

1️⃣ The big picture: World Health Day highlights pressing global health issues, from access to clean water and vaccines to combating emerging diseases. Each year, it focuses on a unique theme to drive awareness and action on specific challenges in global health. For example, World Health Day 2024 centered on the theme My Health, My Right, emphasizing that access to quality health services, education, and information is a fundamental human right for everyone, everywhere.

2️⃣ Why it is important: Despite global progress, roughly 4.5 billion people– more than half of the global population– lacked access to essential healthcare services, including vaccinations, maternal care, and chronic disease management as of 2021. World Health Day brings awareness to these disparities, emphasizing that health is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. For example, in 2020, up to 95% of maternal deaths occurred in low-to-middle-income countries, where less than half of all births were attended by skilled healthcare professionals, while over 100 million households are pushed into extreme poverty annually due to healthcare costs.

3️⃣ How you can get involved: You can contribute to World Health Day by learning more about the event, sharing vital information with others, and supporting health-focused charities or organizations:

  1. Educate yourself: Explore this year’s theme through the World Health Organization’s resources and understand its impact on your community.
  2. Spread awareness: Share facts, stories, and posts on social media using #WorldHealthDay and #HealthForAll to educate others and inspire action.
  3. Take action: Organize local events or donate to organizations working towards global health equity.

A Brief History of World Health Day

When was this event established: World Health Day was first observed on April 7, 1950, to mark the founding of the World Health Organization in 1948 and to draw worldwide attention to global health. One of the main aims of the day was to address health challenges that persist as a result of ongoing conflicts and the climate crisis.

How has it developed since then: Since its inception, World Health Day has addressed various critical issues, including mental health, food safety, and environmental health. Each year, World Health Day spotlights a different challenge, inspiring global action and policy changes to improve health outcomes worldwide. It is one of 11 official global health campaigns marked by the WHO including World Tuberculosis Day, World AIDS Day, and World Patient Safety Day

3 Interesting Facts About World Health Day

  1. Hidden health crises: World Health Day themes often reveal critical health issues that many may overlook if they aren’t directly impacted. For example, the 2014 theme, Vector-Borne Diseases, focused on illnesses like malaria, dengue, and chikungunya, which disproportionately affect low-income regions.
  2. Impactful awareness: Past World Health Day campaigns have influenced policy changes, such as the 2015 theme on food safety, which prompted stricter food regulations in several countries to prevent illnesses caused by contaminated food.
  3. WHO’s greatest hits: Since their founding in 1948, the World Health Organization has made transformative strides in global health. For example, its smallpox eradication campaign, declared successful in 1980, marked the first complete elimination of a human disease, while its relentless HIV/AIDS efforts have brought life-saving antiretroviral therapy to over 28.7 million people worldwide. Moreover, WHO’s global disease surveillance system, introduced in 1951, revolutionized the way the world tracks and responds to emerging health threats.
