Three runner-up teams received substantial prizes for their unique approaches including biochar, underground storage, and rock weathering solutions. The competition has helped establish and grow an entirely new industry focused on carbon removal technology.

These solutions offer practical paths forward for addressing excess carbon dioxide already in our environment, complementing efforts to reduce new emissions.
