Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

Movember (also known as Men’s Health Awareness Month) is an annual campaign focused on raising awareness for men’s health, with a special focus on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. The movement is best known for encouraging men to grow mustaches during November as a visible symbol of support and advocacy. So, we had to ask: What’s the most important information you need to know about this year’s Movember?

👉 Official Name: Movember
💚 Cause: Raise awareness for men’s health, particularly prostate and testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention
📅 Next Date: November 1-30, 2025
🌐 Official Website: https://www.movember.com
🐦 Hashtag: #Movember #MensHealth #GrowAMo

Keep on reading to find out all the important information about Movember at a glance, including its big picture, why it’s important, and how you can get involved. We’ll then share its brief history, three interesting facts about it, its future dates, and how you’ll never miss any important awareness event again.

The Most Important Information About Movember at a Glance

1️⃣ The big picture: Movember addresses critical issues in men’s health, including prostate and testicular cancers—two of the most common cancers exclusive to men. It also focuses on mental health, as men are often less likely to seek help for depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions. Through awareness and fundraising, Movember aims to save lives and improve the quality of life for men around the world.

2️⃣ Why it is important: In the US, prostate cancer will impact 1 in 8 men during their lifetime and over 10.8 million men are living with prostate cancer globally. And, testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men under the age of 39, but highly treatable when caught early. Additionally, 4 out of 5 suicide deaths in the US are men, yet only 1 in 4 men seek mental health treatment. Despite these numbers, men are statistically less likely than women to prioritize their health and seek early treatment for both physical and mental health concerns. Movember brings attention to these issues, breaking down stigmas and encouraging men to seek help before it’s too late.

3️⃣ How You Can Get Involved: You can participate in Movember by growing a mustache, joining the “Move for Movember” campaign, or supporting the Movember Foundation:

Below are our favorite charities that are especially relevant for Movember:

A Brief History of Movember

When was this event established: Movember was founded in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia, by two friends, Travis Garone and Luke Slattery, who decided to bring back the mustache as a way to raise awareness for men’s health. The movement began as a small, fun initiative with 30 participants in its first year, but it quickly grew into a global campaign after the launch of the Movember Foundation in 2006.

How has it developed since then: Since its inception, Movember has evolved into a global movement with over 6.8 million participants across 23 countries. To date, Movember has raised more than $1 billion for men’s health initiatives, funding over 1,320 projects aimed at combating prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health issues, and suicide prevention. For example, since 2006, they have funded the development of five life-extending therapies, three PET Imaging Radiotracers, and a new blood test for prostate cancer.

3 Interesting Facts About Movember

  1. Celebrity support: Many celebrities have joined the Movember movement, including actor Hugh Jackman and comedian Ricky Gervais, helping to amplify the campaign’s message and reach millions of people.
  2. Mo sistas: Female supporters, known as “Mo Sistas,” play a vital role in Movember by raising awareness, fundraising, and encouraging the men in their lives to prioritize their health. Moreover, the organization welcomed its first female CEO Michelle Terry in 2020.
  3. Creative campaigning: Launched in 2023, Movember’s AI-generated Roman campaign used artificial intelligence to create avatars of men as Roman warriors, symbolizing strength and resilience. This innovative campaign aimed to spark conversations about men’s mental health and encouraged men to “be the hero of their own story,” blending technology with traditional themes of masculinity to promote self-care and wellness.
