Hey fellow impactful ninja ?

You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.

  • Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.

  • But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.

Why do we add these product links?

First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.

And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.

What do these affiliate links mean for you?
  1. First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.

  3. And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.

What do these affiliate links mean for us?
  1. When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.

  2. When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).

  3. And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.

What does this mean for me personally?

You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.

Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.

Stay impactful,

While Valentine’s Day celebrates romantic love, National Donor Day honors a different kind of love on February 14—the lifesaving love of organ, eye, tissue, and blood donation. This special day highlights the critical need for donors, celebrates the recipients whose lives have been transformed, and honors the legacy of those who gave the ultimate gift. So, we had to ask: What is the most important information you need to know about this year’s National Donor Day?

👉 Official Name: National Donor Day
💚 Cause: Promote organ, eye, tissue, and blood donation
📅 Next Date: February 14, 2026
🌐 Official Website: https://donatelife.net/national-donor-day/
🐦 Hashtag: #NationalDonorDay #DonateLife

Keep on reading to find out all the important information about National Donor Day at a glance, including its big picture, why it’s important, and how you can get involved. We’ll then share its brief history, three interesting facts about it, its future dates, and how you’ll never miss any important awareness event again.

The Most Important Information About National Donor Day at a Glance

1️⃣ The big picture: National Donor Day highlights the urgent need for organ, tissue, and blood donors. As of October 2024, more than 103,000 people were on the transplant waiting list in the US alone. And, blood donations are just as critical, with someone in the US needing blood every two seconds to survive trauma, surgery, or chronic conditions.

2️⃣ Why it is important: Donation doesn’t just save lives—it transforms them. Unfortunately, the demand far exceeds the supply. For example, about 17 people die every day while waiting for an organ transplant, and the American Red Cross declared an emergency blood shortage in August 2024. Despite the urgent need, only 60% of Americans are registered as organ donors and only 3% of eligible donors regularly give blood. Raising awareness about the lifesaving impact of organ, tissue, blood, plasma, and marrow donations is crucial to closing these gaps and saving more lives.

3️⃣ How you can get involved: You can take action on National Donor Day by registering as an organ donor, giving blood, or spreading awareness about the importance of donation:

  1. Help the donor registry grow: Join Donate Life’s National Registry and encourage friends and loved ones to do the same. You can also host awareness events, educational seminars, or registration drives to encourage more participation among the public.
  2. Donate blood or host a blood drive: Schedule a blood donation appointment with your local Red Cross or blood bank. Or, you can even consider rallying your community and hosting your own blood drive!
  3. Spread awareness: Use hashtags like #DonateLife and #NationalDonorDay to share your story or educate others about the importance of donation online.

A Brief History of National Donor Day

When was this event established: National Donor Day was launched in 1998 by the Saturn Corporation in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to raise awareness about the urgent need for organ and tissue donors.

How has it developed since then: Since its launch, National Donor Day has grown into a day of hope and action, pairing its message with Valentine’s Day by emphasizing the gift of life and love through donation. Over the years, countless campaigns have inspired people to register as donors and contribute to a culture of giving.

3 Interesting Facts About National Donor Day

  1. An ever-growing need: Every eight minutes, another person is added to the organ transplant waiting list, highlighting the urgent need for more donors.
  2. Alleviating the shortage: If just 1% more of the US population donated blood, it would eliminate all current blood shortages and ensure hospitals have the supplies needed to save countless lives.
  3. One person, many lives: A single organ donor can save up to eight lives, while tissue donors can improve the quality of life for over 75 individuals.
