Hey fellow impactful ninja ?
You may have noticed that Impactful Ninja is all about providing helpful information to make a positive impact on the world and society. And that we love to link back to where we found all the information for each of our posts.
Most of these links are informational-based for you to check out their primary sources with one click.
But some of these links are so-called "affiliate links" to products that we recommend.
Why do we add these product links?
First and foremost, because we believe that they add value to you. For example, when we wrote a post about the environmental impact of long showers, we came across an EPA recommendation to use WaterSense showerheads. So we linked to where you can find them. Or, for many of our posts, we also link to our favorite books on that topic so that you can get a much more holistic overview than one single blog post could provide.
And when there is an affiliate program for these products, we sign up for it. For example, as Amazon Associates, we earn from qualifying purchases.
What do these affiliate links mean for you?
First, and most importantly, we still only recommend products that we believe add value for you.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission - but at no additional costs to you.
And when you buy something through a link that is not an affiliate link, we won’t receive any commission but we’ll still be happy to have helped you.
What do these affiliate links mean for us?
When we find products that we believe add value to you and the seller has an affiliate program, we sign up for it.
When you buy something through one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission (at no extra costs to you).
And at this point in time, all money is reinvested in sharing the most helpful content with you. This includes all operating costs for running this site and the content creation itself.
What does this mean for me personally?
You may have noticed by the way Impactful Ninja is operated that money is not the driving factor behind it. It is a passion project of mine and I love to share helpful information with you to make a positive impact on the world and society. However, it's a project in that I invest a lot of time and also quite some money.
Eventually, my dream is to one day turn this passion project into my full-time job and provide even more helpful information. But that's still a long time to go.
Stay impactful,

Around the globe, 1 in 10 people lack access to clean water and 3 billion people can’t afford a healthy, nutritious diet. The Most Important Information About Nutrition and Hydration Week at a Glance
1️⃣ The big picture: Nutrition and Hydration Week was founded in 2012 by a group of healthcare experts to raise awareness of the dangers of malnutrition and dehydration, as well as reduce pressure on health and social care systems. Today, organizations worldwide and from all areas of health and social care promote the benefits of a healthy diet through fun activities and awareness campaigns. The highlight of every Nutrition and Hydration Awareness Week is the Global Tea Party, which encourages communities to hold healthy tea parties
2️⃣ Why is this important: Around the world, nearly 200 million children experience severe health issues due to malnourishment. In fact, half of all deaths in children under 5 are due to undernutrition. On the other end of the scale, 37 million children are suffering from obesity, which can lead to life-long health issues. In addition, 703 million people lack access to clean water, causing them to have to walk close to 4 miles (or about 6 km) every day to carry 40 lbs of clean water back to their communities. Even in developed countries, malnutrition is a big problem, with 9% of the US population alone suffering from some form of eating disorder in their lifetime.
3️⃣ How can you get involved: You can get involved in Nutrition and Hydration Week by signing up for the Global Tea Party initiative to raise awareness of the worldwide issues surrounding malnourishment and a lack of access to clean water. You can also get involved by adopting a healthy lifestyle to protect our beloved planet or setting up a fundraising event in your local community.

The Brief History of Nutrition and Hydration Week
When was this event established: Nutrition and Hydration Week was originally created in 2012 by nurse Caroline Lecko as an educational event to promote good nutrition and hydration in the NHS. At the same time, caterers Andy Jones and Derek Johnson were working on creating a focus day to bring social care and hospital caterers together. During its second week, it was decided by all 3 of them that Nutrition and Hydration Week should be a generalized campaign to reach a wider audience.
How has it developed since then: Since 2012, Nutrition and Hydration Awareness Week has been held every full third week in March to raise awareness about the important roles food and drink play in preserving our well-being. From humble beginnings, the event has grown into a global initiative to end world hunger and dehydration and promote a healthier lifestyle for all through educational events and awareness campaigns.
